Hi, everyone! It’s good to be with you again. I had some tests done recently and it took a toll on me. I’m beginning to make a comeback and I’m feeling better each day. Anyway, I’ll try to get you caught up on activities at the center.

Saturday was a busy day at the center. It started at 7 a.m. when the Masons kicked off the breakfast fundraiser. I’m told they had a large number of people come in to eat. A lot of them were bikers from the Bikes and Barbecue.

At 10 a.m. they closed up and the ladies of the center sold homemade pies and cinnamon rolls with coffee until 4 p.m.

At 6 p.m. several of us got together to play games, listen to music from Tom and Dave and eat some good food. There were 27 of us. We’ll meet again at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 11. Come on down and join us for some fun.

I want to say thank you to all the local folks who came to support the Masons and the senior center. We really appreciate all of you that regularly support our activities.

Quilters last week were Judy, Estalene and Louise. I’ve been told that they are quilting not only at 9 a.m. on Thursdays but also at 9 a.m. on Tuesdays and on Fridays after exercise class. The quilt they are working on is very pretty but an unusual pattern. They are about halfway done with it. There is also a quilt hanging that is really cute made by Judy Curtin. Its pattern is paper dolls, come by and see it.

Dr. Larry Majors renewed his membership to the senior citizens. Thank you, Larry. We are so glad to have you as part of our group.

We received a number of donations in memory of John Ridenhour from Lonnie Rickey, Stan and Terri Crawford, Arlyn and Joy Moon, Patsy Wright, Phil and Jody Sharp, Barbra Dugan, Freddie and Cheryl Ridenhour and Kenneth and Sherry Ridenhour.

Thank you all so much for your donations, we will be sure to let the family know. Marathon Petroleum Company also donated.

Last week meals on wheels were delivered by Hailey Boden, Sharon Barnes, Brenda Stein, Janice Hood and Vernon Brickman. We are so thankful for these folks and all their help that we wouldn’t know what to do without them. If you need a meal delivered, please call before 10 a.m. and if you want one to go, call before 12:30. Cost is $7.
